The MBA is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency in the County of Midland devoted solely to the economic development of our community. The MBA partners with the County of Midland, City of Midland, City of Coleman, Village of Sanford, the 16 townships located in the county and are the administrators of the Economic Development Corporation of the County of Midland (EDCCM).

Midland has long served as a hub for chemical and technology businesses, and the MBA works tirelessly to promote and assist these businesses, as well as attract new businesses by showing others the unique advantages Midland offers.

In economic development, we focus on:

• Enable Business Retention and Expansion by acting as a liaison between business, utilities, and local and state governments, and utilizing all resources available to us to create a pro-business climate for growth.
• Promote Innovation at Midland’s Existing Employers not only by using traditional business retention strategies (assistance with incentives), but also by helping businesses grow. We continuously work with more than 90 local manufacturing and technology businesses, developing new products, new customers and new markets.
• Research and Attract National Businesses by building proactive business relationships with chemical and technology companies around the globe. We aggressively promote the unique and deep technology manufacturing knowledge of our region – an advantage other areas can’t match.
